There is a Sachin in you and me
Sachin Tendulkar is the biggest sporting icon in the country. He is the reason why kids flock to cricket coaching camps, not too surprising given that some of them would have been named after the batting maestro. If you have gone to watch him play, you would have shouted out his name along with the entire stadium when he came out to bat. In contrast, the silence that envelopes the stands when he is dismissed, shows that the champion's defeat at the bowler's hands is treated as a personal loss. India holds its breath when he is batting on 99, applauds when he reaches 100, and celebrates every birthday of its favourite son

After waiting more than a year, Tendulkar finally became the first cricketer to score 100 international centuries during an Asia Cup one-day match against Bangladesh on Friday.
